Stefano Severini
Stefano Severini is an Italian conductor and pianist whose career reflects profound versatility, shaped by extensive international training. Severini debuted internationally as a guest conductor with the Astrakhan Chamber Orchestra Philharmonic (2017) and the Bryansk Philharmonic Orchestra (2018), earning widespread acclaim from audiences and critics.
He apprenticed with legendary conductors like Nello Santi, Massimo Pradella, Domenico Bartolucci, Eliahu Inbal, and Günter Neuhold for full productions at the opera houses of Rome, Zürich, Bern, and Milan, absorbing a rich interpretive tradition.
After training in Italy in piano, chamber music, harmony, counterpoint, and score reading, Severini dedicated himself to orchestral conducting. Studying under renowned professors from Italy, Russia, Austria, and Germany, with a focus on the Ilya Musin by Alexander Polyanichko school technique, he honed his conducting technique and score analysis skills. Since 2011, he has regularly led professional orchestras at final concerts of conducting masterclasses, cultivating adaptability to diverse orchestral traditions.
His background as a solo pianist, cultivated from a young age, led him to master collaborative piano, supporting opera singers, theater choirs, university exams, masterclasses, and international competitions, covering the core repertoire of all instruments.
This multifaceted experience enables him to expertly navigate opera, symphonic, and chamber music, including lesser-known and rare repertoires. Stefano Severini has recordings for radio and labels like RSI, Radio Vaticana, Tactus, and Universal Audio, as a solo pianist and collaborator with opera singers and instrumentalists.
