Praised for his imagination and expressive depth, Romanian pianist Dominik Ilisz is emerging as a distinctive voice on the European classical music scene. A student of Prof. Christopher Hinterhuber at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Dominik has already performed on renowned stages such as the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, the Megaron Hall in Thessaloniki, the Philharmonic Hall in Patras, and recently made his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper. He is set to perform at the Vienna Musikverein in the upcoming season.

Dominik’s repertoire includes cornerstone concertos such as Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 and Grieg’s Piano Concerto, which he performed with the Radio Romania Orchestra under Radu Popa. He was awarded the “Medalla d’Honor” at the 70th Maria Canals International Piano Competition and received distinctions from the Ettlingen, Bechstein-Bruckner, and Beethoven Society Vienna. In 2024, he was nominated by Radio Romania for the ICMA “Young Artist of the Year” title for 2026.

He has also participated in masterclasses with acclaimed pianists such as Wojciech Świtała, Grigory Gruzman, and Leonid Margarius. His artistry was commended by Sir András Schiff, who remarked, “Very beautiful sound – I really like your interpretation.”

In 2026/27, he will perform across Europe, including a solo recital at Palau de la Música in Barcelona and a recording project at the Erkel Studio in Budapest.
