He then moved to the United States to work with the legendary pianist and pedagogue Leon Fleisher. His artistic development was further enriched through encounters with masters such as Radu Lupu, Murray Perahia, András Schiff, Maria Tipo, and Pascal Rogé.

As a soloist, he has collaborated with orchestras such as the Bucharest Philharmonic, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Berliner Symphoniker, and the New Symphony Orchestra (NSO). Aimo frequently shares the stage with his mother, renowned violinist Silvia Marcovici, in chamber music performances. Notably, he recently replaced Radu Lupu at short notice for a performance with the Bucharest Philharmonic and premiered Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in Switzerland with the Symphony Orchestra Biel/Solothurn under Kaspar Zehnder.
His recordings include works by Martin Romberg (SWR, BBC London), and in 2019 he became a Bösendorfer Artist. In collaboration with the French label Paraty, he released an acclaimed album featuring the complete waltzes of Frédéric Chopin.
